Ibex Marina Ropes Ltd.

In August 2009 a management decision was made to unite Ibex Ropes with Marina Ropes into one factory. This means that the strengths of both companies’ can be maximised at one manufacturing and sales administration site to give benefits all round.

This concentration in our 40,000 sq.ft (4,000 sq.m) factory allows manufacturing of Natural Fibre products and Synthetic Fibre under one roof to give potentially the widest range of braided and twisted ropes and cords and cord assemblies in the UK.

Technical Elastic Shock Cords are along with Sash Cords two of our most important products. We manufacture from 3mm to 32mm shock cords and manufacture a very extensive range of Waxed, Polished and plain Sash Cords in Natural and Man-Made fibres

Manufacturing has taken place on our site since the mid 1800s and as the textile town of Heywood grew, so did our business. This location can draw on a skilled workforce from the local area.

Acquired in 1998 by our current parent company English Braids Ltd., significant investment in modern machinery has taken place. Development of new products and also bespoke products to customer requirements is seen as our way forward. Our Sales and Customer Service performance is vital to the building of strong customer relations and our on-site sales staff provide exactly that.

In January 2010 we have adopted a new MRP computer system which will allow better Sales, Purchasing and Production Planning. From this, customers will receive better Sales Order Conformation and reduced lead times. We shall also be working hard to provide more of our standard products from a stock supported basis.

We hold the quality standard BS EN ISO 9001:2008 and have a name for Quality and Service which we look to improve upon at all times.

With Environmentally Positive Ethics and Practises we are working to reduce our carbon footprint in all areas of our business by reducing waste and power consumption through management and employee education.
