John H. Blakey Ltd.

Originally established in Radcliffe the company made a wide range of the famous “STORM" Sash Cords as well as many other small to medium braids.

In 2000 the company was acquired by English Braids Ltd and in 2001 moved to the Heywood site to be amalgamated with Marina Ropes Ltd. This was achieved successfully with the help and support of a hand full of the original Radcliffe staff and allowed an effective transfer to Heywood. Investment in new "solid braiding" machines meant that the future was secured, production improved and the "STORM" range of Sash Cords flourished along side the Marina product range.
