Marina ropes

Marina Ropes Ltd

Rope, Cord and twine making has been carried out on our site since the mid 1800s. Originally established by the Healey family and working as a cotton rope and twine company the business' flourished for many years. In the mid 1970’s the company was bought by British Ropes.

In 1998 the company operating from the Heywood site was called British Twines, a division of British Ropes. With the failure of British Ropes, the Heywood site and occupying business was bought from the receivers and renamed MARINA ROPES Ltd.

Much reorganising, modernisation and investment took place quickly and the business's fortunes were turned around.

The product range was further widened with the acquisition of John H. Blakey Ltd. in Radcliffe and the range famous "STORM" Sash Cords taken in as well as many more predominantly natural fibre braids and cords significantly "solid braiding" capacity.

Today we are a technical braid and cord manufacturer serving many industries including Railways , Fire and Rescue, Defence, Off shore , Theatre and Sports and Leisure.
