Dyneema Covered Shock Cord
Dyneema® is an UHMwPE (Ultra High Molecular weight Polyethylene) or HMPE (High Modulus Polyethylene) fibre developed by DSM.
On a weight for weight basis, it is 15 times stronger than steel wire.
It is hydrophobic and does not absorb water.
Dyneema® is chemically inert, and performs well in dry, wet, salty and humid conditions, as well as other situations where chemicals are present.

Dyneema Shock Cord
The Dyneema cover provides exceptional abrasion resistance, which makes it the perfect choice for marine, aerospace, and industrial applications – all of which we have a long history of serving at Ibex Marina Ropes.
The lightweight and high-strength properties of Dyneema shock cord enables it to offer superior performance in extreme environments while maintaining flexibility and resistance to fatigue. Plus, its non-corrosive nature makes it particularly suited for use in saltwater environments, where traditional materials may degrade over time. This ensures a longer service life, reducing replacement costs and improving operational efficiency.
If you have any questions about Dyneema Shock Cord, we will be happy to assist at Ibex Marina Ropes. Feel free to give us a call on 01706 360 363, and a member of our team can answer your questions in as much or as little detail as you need.
